Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is well-known for his wisecracking and hard-edged parts in action films. He has appeared in more than $2.5 billion dollars worth of films. Walter Bruce Willis, a actor from West Germany, was born in Idar–Obersteinin West Germany on March 19, 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey) who resided on a military base in the United States. His family moved to U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey in which his mother worked as a bank clerk, and his father worked as a welder and factory worker. Willis was interested in acting in high school. While working in a New York City cafĂ©, the cafe was "discovered". Then, he appeared in a few off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night, he was seen by the casting director who was impressed by his personality and needed bartenders for a tiny movie part. Willis was involved in numerous auditions, before getting the role in the popular romantic comedy, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. The sarcastic humor and wittiness as a P.I. is a highlight of his professional career. His humorous and wisecracking P.I. is often regarded as a test for his role as John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), which saw Willis combat a gang of brutal international thieves at a Los Angeles skyscraper. The sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his role in the role of McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to reclaim an unjust South American general. The sequel, Die Hard with the vengeance (1995), was a success. It starred Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shop owner who is required to aid McClane in a terrorist bombing spree that takes place during a hot New York day.
